I started University Auto Parts in 2006 at 2125 32nd Street in Boulder, CO. I saw the opportunity for an auto parts store that blended the strong service and quality parts that were a hallmark of great parts suppliers like Holt Auto Supply, with new technologies and services being demanded by customers in our ever-changing industry. Since that day in April 2006 we have seen strong growth. In 2012 we added our second location in Broomfield. The following year, in 2013, we expanded for the first time to Northeast Colorado and opened our Sterling location. Sterling has long been the home of some great NAPA Auto Parts stores and we are proud to keep that tradition alive. In 2017 we further expanded our Northeast Colorado footprint adding stores in Yuma and Wray, Colorado. Both stores were owned for a long time by the great Bruce Hall. Then in 2019 we added our sixth store in Frederick, Colorado, which had been owned for a long time by our friend Jeff Ewing.

We love servicing such diverse markets. As such, it is of paramount importance that we ensure that we tailor the products, parts and services we offer to the specific and different needs of each market. Because of that you may find we carry a broader selection of brands or parts categories that you wouldn’t typically find at your normal parts store. So, if you are looking for something that’s a little different, please don’t hesitate to ask one of our team members. We are just as comfortable talking to you about your Volkwagen as we are checking out your restored IH tractor. That’s just the way we roll at University Auto Parts.

Parts are only part of what sets us apart, as our most important asset is our people. We have some of the most knowledgeable parts people around. We pride ourselves on finding hard to find parts and on #NeverSayingNO. We work hard to find the best parts people in each community, and if you think you would fit that category check out our CAREERS page. In addition to a great team, University Auto Parts is strongly rooted in the family that powers our organization. In 2016 my brother-in-law Joel Pitre joined me as a partner in the business. My wife Brenda is our Sales Manager and the backbone of our Boulder market. My sister Kellie is our Human Resources Manager and the keeper of the fort at our Broomfield store. Our Office Manager Amy, yep, she is family too. I even convinced my parents to join in on the fun. My mom Connie helps with office functions. And my dad Brad wears a lot of hats, but the hat he loves most and the one we would want you to know, is that he is our Super Trucker and performs accurate and on-time freight delivery…trucker hat and all. There are even more family members than that, and in addition there is a laundry list of people that have been with us so long that they might as well be family! The reason I even mention this is to tell you that this is 100% a family powered business and the difference that makes to our customers is a level of caring and concern you won’t find with most of our competitors.

Yes, we work a lot. But when we are not in the store slingin’ parts we are proud to support a number of activities and places that are near and dear to our heart. First and foremost, we are passionate racing supporters. We don’t care if you race in a circle, apex corners, or go in a straight line we are into it! Racing is a big component of the University Auto Parts DNA and most weekends when it’s nice you find us out at a racetrack. Speaking of racetracks, we are proud supporters of some great Colorado tracks: Bandimere Speedway, Julesburg Drag Strip and Colorado National Speedway. If you’ve never been to one or any of them, go check them out! Racing is a big passion, but we are also passionate supporters of youth sports. We think that youth sports do a great job preparing and guiding young people and we are proud supporters of leagues and teams in all of our markets.

So that is University Auto Parts, a family business that sells auto parts, tools and accessories, staffed by a bunch of people passionate about the vehicles and machines they sell those items for. Come see us some time!
